You Tell ON Yourself

Postby Remnant » 22 Aug 2008, 22:37

You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,
By the very manner in which you speak;
By the way you employ your leisure time;
By the way you make of dollar and dime.

You tell what you are by the you wear,
By the spirit in which your burdens bear;
By the kind of things of which you laugh,
By the records you play on the phonograph.

You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk;
By the manner in which you bear defeat;
By some simple thing as how you eat.

By the books you choose from the well-filled shelf;
In these ways and more, you tell on yourself;
So there's really no particle of sense'
In an effort to keep up a false pretense.

Author unknown, but words of wisdom.

I learn at a very young age that one's character is everything.

Being I'm from a small town, everyone knew my grandfather.

He was the owner of a jewelry store, and as his granddaughter, I always heard stories of the good things he did for people.

Yes, he had a business, but the business wasn't always about the $$$$.

Where did those days go???

Now all we have is corruption, stealing, and bullying.

I too am from a small town, now considered a city based on the increase of population and building .

most everyone that knew my dad are no longer living , most he outlived, and he already had age on them, but those that did, and the few that do, knew him as a hard working, honest and fair man.

Most people know me, I was born at home, just a few blocks from where I now live, I weighed in at 2lbs...
I understand the statement Yeshua made, telling how hard it is for one who grew up in the same place and times as those they share with them the gospel, its hard to make known to them the gospel; the one sharing is not welcome nor is gospel they share welcome...

I have more than one time had my past bought up to me, and made mention of things they knew about me, and I denied none of it, for it was true, but I told them this, I can not denie any of what you said, but who I was, is not who I am.
Nevertheless, most chose to dwell on my past, while a few others were amazed the change God had made in my life, I can not take credit for anything God did through His Son Yeshua in changing my heart, and this change in my heart changed my attitude of thinking and change of thinking , change my actions, and all was and still is the working of the Holy Spirit of God whithin , Praise The Lord , AMen
He who compromises the sovereign Word of God, compromises the sovereign foundation, of a Christian nation

Amen, we do tell on ourselves!!! What is our motivation? Is it of Christ, or of this world? Our lives provides that answer. My Dad always told me, "son, your name will go further than you will ever go". What we do, how we treat people, etc., defines who we really are.

I like that!
