Would appreciate your prayers

Postby JWayne » 30 Apr 2011, 20:58

A few months ago, my wife did something that should not have been done, and by the time I found out, it was too late to correct. This happened with our Sunday School class and at that point we left that church.

The situation was rectified, we apologized and asked for forgiveness from all the members and not one of them responded.

We have moved to another church, and our pastor and his wife came by today to let us know that our request for letter was denied. We went to see the pastor of our old church to talk about what was wrong.

He told us that there was unresolved differences, which not one person in that church has said one word to us other than him and his wife, to which we had apologized and asked to be forgiven.

Anyways, it turns out that one of the "deacons" and I say that lightly, is determined to cause us problems at no end. When I was working at the center one day, the director called me in to her office to let me know that 'someone' had called and told her to beware of me and my wife. He would not give his name.

Well now, it appears this person has gone above the pastor's head to the Director of Missions, for our district and is again causing problems.

Our pastor now is not concerned with this and has insured us that we are still loved and needed in our church.

Please say a special prayer for this "deacon" that he will stop putting this church in Satan's path, and that he will quit holding a grudge. This is not the only grudge he holds against us. We have had run in after run in with him for a long time. He thinks it is his church not God's.

So sorry to hear about your trouble, JWayne. I don't know why your pastor is not concerned about this situation (which is clearly unbiblical behavior), but he certainly should be taking steps to restore fellowship in the flock that he is responsible for leading. I will pray that God will show all those concerned His mighty hand in the situation, and that He will completely heal and restore your church body.

Denied by your old church or by the new church?

Our membership in a church is not based upon acceptance of a letter anyway.

Wayne, I will definitely be praying for both pastors and deacon and this situation.

I will difinately be praying, brother. Some people are bad witnesses from the git go and this "decon" sounds like one. You and your wife are the only ones who did things Biblically. You can't let this guy slander you, however. Telling people things about you and your wife is very unchristian and the pastor is at fault also if he's not addressing this properly.

Wayne...I agree with Remnant...

Church membership is of 'man',but our membership of 'Christ', is of God...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You mention you have already ask for 'forgiveness' from these church members...

If you have, then it's up to 'them' to forgive...

If they will not release your 'church membership' , then, there's something wrong with the leadership within your old church...

Keep praying for the situation...

I will also pray Wayne. I dont attentend a church. I watch a few on TV that is how I get my church. I have not heard of this letter thing. I know that when my divorce is over in order for her to remarry she has to have papers saying that our marriage never happened. I think I have sign them. I am not going to sign them. I hope that this decon gets filled with the Holy Spirit and sees the wrong that he has done and repeants. Which church do wish to attend? The one you are leaving or the new one? Just curious!!

We are very happy at our new church. I had been wanting to change for some time, because of things that where happening in the old. It was lukewarm and nothing was changing. The church we are at now, has seen 16 new members, 11 by salvation and the rest by moving from another. Christ is so alive and we have an awesome youth ministry with nearly 65 kids. The only thing is there are maybe only 15 adults.
