What about controversial sites?

Postby Gracealone » 17 Sep 2009, 09:10

The question was asked, somewhere, why forums with a lot of controversy were more popular
than simple fellowship, and I wanted to answer but lost where I was, so will post here.......Sorry, I
seem to get lost a lot lately! LOL

Here was my reply from my own seeking....Hope it helps for understanding.

To reply to your question JWayne,
I for one had left all Christian forums because of the strife I saw continually.
I have been on the net for 6 years now, ever since my daughter signed me in, and right from the first
was attacked on one level or another on my faith.
Over the years, I just plain got tired of it, so leaving those who were constantly controversial ,I left all.
Well, except for one, where only about 5 people stay, for we know each other.

I wanted a place to fellowship, not just to defend my faith, while under attack.

Christian, shooting at Christian is not my idea of mutual faith, or fellowship.......So, what I am saying
keep up the good work. even if there is only 5-6 -10, or what ever. if they are truly Bible believing Christian.
There may be differences in understanding to talk about, but when it goes into attack mode it is not of the spirit of our Lord.
The one thing that determined my leaving the net was this" Banned Forever", in some sites.
Total miss representation of the heart of God!
Which I experienced in a couple, for simply defending my faith, while being attacked, and I was the one banned.....showed me the site itself leaned to false teaching, and didnt want the word of God there...
I know nothing about Preterits, Calvinist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Baptist etc. etc.
I grew up believing we were all simply saved by grace through faith in Christ, and we were called Christian.
Give me a site that wants above life itself, to honor and bring glory to Jesus Christ alone,by grace alone, and I will be there. .....I had simply given up hope of that, on the net, and decided to stay off, and be satisfied with the fellowship of my home church, where God brought us anyway!
I can see the hearts there, feel the Love, and be a part of it, receiving sound doctrine from Gods word
and sharing mutual faith and encouragement.
I had already, what I was looking for on the net, and couldnt find.

This has been my struggle with what I see, and have experienced, so may help in your understanding
of how all this effects the heart of those seeking , and few there be that find it.
Stay faithful to your calling, allow God to bring in the numbers. :twbd
Sincerely Yours. in Christ, Gracealone.......Keturah......Graceonly.......Gamin.....Myrtlee < these are all me, in my searching LOL

There is most definitely alot of strife involved in many of the Christian forums. Some of them are way out of line. I have been banned from a couple or three because they hate the truth.

Here at CFF, it is a totally different world.

That is encouraging JWayne, Thank you......

I may be in as winter sets in, and visit also to keep in touch......We are very distracted right now
from many things needing done.
My husbands Mom is 93 and needs help as she is still at home, with painting ,repairs etc.
She is our main concern, then my Son has been here also, for a year.

Will look forward to renewing fellowship, as the snow flies! :hifi God Bless! :kcb
