Too Much Compromising

Postby Remnant » 20 May 2008, 16:34

It stilll amazes me when I read some of the tolerence and acceptance that goes on with some of the Christian forums. How those who call themselves Christians can give into the peer pressure of others to conform to this world and accept things that are totally against God's word.

Their is too much compromise! Either we believe that the word and scripture is true or not and if we do then we should live and stand by it with out moving.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

GREAT POST!

To be honest, I've visited some of those 'compromising christian forums' - and left.

James 4:4 Ye adulters and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is ENMITY with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world IS the ENEMY of God.

James 4: 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
1 John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world , the love of the Father is not in him.
!6 : For all that is in the world , the lust of the flesh , and the lust of the eyes , and the pride of life , is not of the Father , but is of the world.
1 John 5:4 & 5

This is why I post what I believe and do not argue about it.

I believe it, I post it and I let it stand.

Amen!! Sometimes I think I have compromised...not because Im giving in but because Im still a babe in Christ. I have to step back and study. I think I have something completely figured out, then someone comes along with a valid idea/interpretation. This is basically why I raised the question "can one know all?"

Good thought provoking topic Frank!

I just remember I am 'accountable to God'--not man.

I would never want to stumble or mis lead someone from knowing Christ on a more personal level.

Christ, only, is foremost in my mind--not myself.

I agree that there's far too much compromising of the Word. Religious tolerance we're told. Jesus had certain words for the Jewish Pharisees, their religious leaders, and those words weren't very kind at all. He wouldn't tolerate their man-made religious beliefs. As someone said yesterday - there's a huge difference in "believing in Jesus", and "believing Jesus". If we truly believe Jesus, then we should do as He says.

I still haven't gone to any other forums but I do read conservative blogs online. While the blogs are not "Christian" per se, I notice how much the readers are like sheep. The blogger's words hold a lot of power and are able to sway people into thinking and saying things they might not have thought and said on their own. It's almost like a mob mentality. I don't know if that's what it's like on the Christian forums but humans have a need to be accepted and will more likely than not, go with the flow, rather than stand for the truth. Generally speaking, I have not met many individuals who will stand for anything. The bottom line is fear. Fear of being an outcast. That's been my observation my entire life. Maybe that's what permeates Christian forums?

What I personally have found since I've visited three other Christian sites is that there's sooo much 'ignorance' as to what the Word truly says...

There's no 'bible study',but teaching of one's spiritual experiences or religion...

Or like Januarie said, 'those who stand for nothing.'

That's what our churches are today: lukewarm

Afraid to say this scripture teaches this or that...

Too many 'feel good religions',and they don't want you to post Biblical truths that most of the Christian life will be filled with 'hardships.'

My Christian friends that are closest to the Lord have suffered the greatest hardships in their lives; whereas, my casual Christian friends have really no hardships in life.

Satan has them exactly where he wants them: lukewarm...

Thank the Lord I am 'bless' with the best SS teacher...
