To Whom Some Are You Referring To?

Postby Rainbow » 25 Apr 2010, 22:13

I was in the company of some people that I know that say they don't believe in God. But I hear them saying at some point for whatever the reason.. "MY GOD ..etc.etc."
Well when they say this (and I'm sure there are others just these people) may I be so bold but to ask whom are you referring to?

Have you ever had a loved one that may have been in the hospital and was very sick or needed an important operation that could mean life and death?
You sit for hours waiting in silence anticipating a great outcome. When the doctor comes to talk to you and gives you great news you catch yourself saying
"Oh! Thank God"

Believe it or not whether you believe in God or not I'm sure maybe just a wee bit somewhere deep down inside you know that there is a possibility that God may exist and brought your loved one through the operation.
God is still happy that you know and recognized him in even the smallest of ways, even as a non-believer.

If someone comes up to you and asks you whom are you referring to when they may hear you say "MY GOD" or "THANK GOD" what will be your answer?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with maybe just giving God a chance.

Just remember whether you believe or not he will always be willing to wait patiently for you to be one of his. :shha :prea2 :yagl

Hi Anna, This sounds good but I do not believe scripture bares this out. John 9:31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

So many speak flattering words with there mouth but there heart is far from Him. One can speak all day of the goodness of God, but until they repent and come to know Him through Jesus Christ the Lord, then He does not hear it. It is never getting to heaven because they have not come through the door, who is Jesus Christ, John 10.

What really makes God happy is when the unbeliever comes to Jesus and accepts Him as there Lord and Saviour.

Anna, I have to agree with Frank, but you're right about being a witness for the Lord when someone says MY GOD OR THANK GOD.

These phrases of God can give someone the opportunity to witness to them the true God.

The God who died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the 3rd day.

You just have to 'accept' Him as Your Personal Savior...

....thanks...

So many people have a "god" of their own creation. . .a God who overlooks sin because He's so merciful and loving and full of grace. Sin will never be overlooked and when we overlook sin in our own lives, we then are open for God's discipline. Yes, God is loving and merciful but He is also just and holy and will not tolerate sin. I go along with Frank in that God does not hear the unbeliever until they pray for Jesus to save them from their sins.
