Oh Ritz, what a good question.
I personally believe by studying the scriptures that wasn't God's plan in the beginning of creating the first man, Adam and Eve.
Man's existence on this planet began under the most favorable circumstances.
God made this world perfect as we read that God saw everything He had made and behold, it was 'very good.'
But not good enough for man, for God took and planted a 'Garden' eastward in Eden.
He planted the 'Tree of Life, and the tree of the 'Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Why, the purpose God had in allowing Adam to be tempted and fall is revealed in the Gospel.
If God had not permitted the human race to be tested and fall, the Universe would never have the supreme spectable of His forgiving love and redemptive grace as revealed on Calvary.
Satan's purpose in the 'Temptation of Adam and Eve' was to thwart God's purpose in the creation of man,and to regain the earth.
Now we know they both ate of the tree, and God said:
Because thou hast done this, thou are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust thou shall eat all the days of thy life, and I wil put enmity between thee and the woman, and between Thy Seed and Her Seed, It shall bruise thy Head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.
Ever since the fall, God has had to deal with man as a guilty, lost, helpless and ruined sinner.
It's through the choice of Adam and Eve upon their sin that we 'suffer' today, but that wasn't God's plan in the beginning.
We all have sin to put Christ on that cross for our sins so it's not only Adam and Eve,but God gave us a second chance by salvation.
Remember that God 'loved' us sooo much that He sent His only begotten Son to died for 'our' sins~
