Pride

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way.

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction,

A man's pride will bring him low,
but the humble in spirit will retain honor.

Pride is a very subtle thing in our lives. Pride can puff us up in so many ways and we can't see it as what it is.

I do not enjoy being around people all the time any more.

Well, our home has always been an open door and people have always just flocked to it. The thought came to me as who do I think I am that I can set myself on my computer and expect not to be bothered by those who come by. That is a form of pride to want to set myself up to not be bothered.

The last four years I have really battled the feeling of not wanting company. I just grew so tired of it all. The cooking, cleaning, visiting,
and I have prayed about it, because I know it isn't right, but the feeling is still there in me. I still do it, but have lost some of the joy of doing it. I try and say it is old age. lol...

I guess I said that to say this, if we ask our Lord to show us our sins, and convict us of our errors, He will. I could not believe I had envy in me, nor pride really, but you know what? I did. He showed it to me and I could not deny it.

Pride is a very subtle thing.
