prayer covering for my trip

Postby Carmela » 14 Jul 2009, 10:07

I will be leaving Saturday morning to drive to Maine to visit with my husband. He and his brother flew in from California this morning to visit family and will be staying with their mother. I feel that this will be the last time I see him alive as his health is horrible. He's not yet 50 but has a pacemaker and can hardly walk. . .all diabetes related evidentally. He and his brother live homosexual lifestyles and I feel I need to go to show God's love for them thru me. Me, of all people, should be bitter and angry but I am not thanks only to the Lord. This is the forgivness I want them to see. They also need to know that they must turn from their sin. Well, I'm leaving it all to God and I know that he will put the words in my mouth. I want to be a powerful witness for the 4 days that I'm there. I'll be there Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. If you could please pray for me especially on those days for annointing and protection and for the Lord's will to be done, I would really appreciate it. Thanks each and every one of you. Much love in Christ Jesus. . your sister!

Carmela, You know I have and will continue to pray for you and this situation. May the Lord give you the Holy boldness and love to speak the truth and that this family and especially your husband be drawn to repentance. May the Lord bless your time and courage. I also ask for your safety and guidance. In Jesus Name, Amen!

O Lord, I ask You to to prepare Carmela's mind and heart as to what You would have her share with her ex husband.

Lord, touch His heart, and prepare his heart for Your Truth spoken by Your servant.

Lord, help him to understand that his lifestyle is sooo wrong, and You can remove him from the sin if only he would ask.

Give Carmela the 'boldness' she needs, and give her the 'opportunity' to witness to him the love You have for him.

Keep her safe as she travels.

In Jesus' name,
Amen

My trip was made to order by God. I barely know where to start! We all went to church Sunday morning at the church were Joe and I always attended and where he was the worship leader. It's been about 14 years since we've even been there. The pastor, his wife and many old friends greeted us warmly. It was so awesome. The message was wonderful and was all on healing and restoration!! Made to order service! Joe's brother left at some point but Joe was really touched. The pastor and others prayed over him and it was sooooooo good. The visit was very much ordained of God. I told people here that I didn't really want to go but that I felt I had to and that I wanted Joe to see God's love through me. After I got home, Joe called and told me that our visit together helped him emotionally and spiritually and that he saw God's love in action thru me! Praise God. . .he is so awesome! Anyway, I have to tell you that God has brought Joe to a place where he cannot function in the homosexual lifestyle. He has been going to church and reading his Bible and praying alot this past year. I have been praying for God to do whatever it takes to bring Joe back. . .and he did. It's like God stepped in and said "enough is enough". . . . .and he allowed physical illness to bring Joe down to where he had nothing left but God. The visit changed the relationship between Joe and me. . .hard to describe, but in a good way. We have a good relationship and I'm looking forward to future visits if the Lord allows Joe to live. It was very bittersweet seeing him because when I saw him last, 5 years ago, he was normal. On Saturday I saw a gaunt, thin, old man. It just broke my heart to see but I also know that it's this very thing that turned him back to the Lord! All the glory goes to God and Him alone! Thank you all for your prayers.

Carmela, I am so encouraged as I read your testimony. It reveals God's faithfulness in so many ways. Words are inadequate to express how I feel right now. May God continue to restore your husband's faith.
