Salvation

Postby songbird » 17 Aug 2008, 23:12

Thought I should come here to ask prayer for my Hubby's salvation. His name is Eddie or Ed. He is 70 years old and has a 67 year-old brother who knows the Lord. His sister died last fall (November) from Lou Gehrigs disease and she was 62. She is with the Lord, now. He lost his 95 year-old father last June, who was also a believer.

I truly don't know what is in Eddie's heart when it comes to things of God. He's been through some bad experiences when a teen and trouble in the church, but he wasn't saved and so it affected him in a very bad way. He shows no interest at all in things of God. He has no curiosity at all about anything remotely related to Christianity.

It seems that no one has enough influence on him to cause him to look closer at the things of God.

However, I know God to be powerful enough to turn him around. I've always had hope, but the years are passing. Last fall he had a blood clot from his heel clear to past his waist. I'd never heard of a clot so large. They are rare, but not as rare as one may think. Three out of the four doctors on his case in Des Moines had seen one that large. Guess they are more common in women when they're that big.

He didn't take his condition very seriously. So many were praying for him and God spared his life. The clot is totally gone. PTL!

He came up with a line that has stopped everyone witnessing to him. He's used that line three times that I know of, but I see no curiosity on his part if he is truly 'thinking about it' as he has told several people. (One was a male nurse in intensive care!)

Of course, as I said, I have no way to know what is in his heart and what, if anything, passes between him and God.

I simply ask that you pray for him. I praise my wonderful Father in Heaven for His love for me and for giving me all my extended spiritual family! :D God bless you all…richly!
Always remember, God loves you no matter what!

:pray1 Sweetie, I will be praying for you and your husband. My husband was like this once, we almost divorced but God actually ended up using me to draw my husband near to Him and now my husband is a great godly man who holds me up more then I did him back then. Give this to God fully, He can handle things that we cant. Lots of love to you!! :shug

"For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her husband ." (1 Corinthians 7:14)

"Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives." (1 Peter 3:1.2)

Thank you so much for your prayers, Christy! Yes, our marriage has certainly been on rocky, quaking ground for many years.

And thank you for the verses. Reading them again does give me comfort in that I shouldn't ever give up on Eddie.

Father, I come to you asking that you draw Ed unto yourself. Let him see Jesus in Carol and others. Save him from sin and rebellion. Bless Carol with a born again husband and will you do it right away. In Jesus name, Amen!

I stand in agreement with the prayers for the salvation of Eddie's soul. Songbird, I will be praying also. Just stay close to the Lord and don't lose faith that you will have a Godly husband.

Lord, I come to you today praising who you are.

Thank you, that you are my Father.

Thank you, for being my Redeemer.

As your daughter, I ask you to please reach Ed for salvation.

Please send someone to be a witness to him, and help Ed to want what Songbird has.

Lord, please soften Ed's heart, and give him a desire to know you.

Forgive us for our sins, and those sins we commit without knowing.

Love you, and bless you.

In Jesus' name,
Jeani
