Is revival still possible for us?

(Well almost anything!)

:)

Revival comes to individuals like you and me. There's no other way for revival to happen. It starts with one or more folks somewhere, at the impulse of the Holy Spirit. It spreads out from there as the Holy Spirit touches the heart of each person. He doesn't "touch the heart" of the USA as a nation. The nation only exists in us. "Pour out revival on our nation" simply means "speak to each of us, one after the other", or simultaneously speak to us as individuals in a worship service, for example. "Pray for the United States of America" or "Pray for our country" means to pray for the people, not the inaminate object. I realize that this is obvious for most folks, but believe me, there are those who believe that a cloud or a mist will touch the land and the homes and the buildings and revival will spring forth. Bottom line: Prayer, which includes first and foremost praise and adoration for our Most High God, prayed in the mighty Name of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, for each person on the planet to be invited to rejoice in Him, is the way to go. Will we see each person in "the good ole' USA do that? I don't think so, not in my lifetime. God's clock is ticking, the alarm has been set. I'll pray for revival, anyway. Amen.

Thank you for understanding what I am trying to get across here.

Revival is not impossible, but it has to begin some place in some one and I want it to be me. And I want it to be each of you.

I believe that revival can come but it must start with me, you feel the same way, and if enough of us will bow our knees to our Lord and ask for revival I think we will have it.
If God so wills, it can spread across America. It would be so good to see people turn to God and forsake their sins. I pray for God to raise up some of His people in these days to proclaim the Salvation of our Lord, the turning from our sins, and follow Him.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.

Sorry if I discouraged anyone. I believe that Gods people can have a revival but a revival with all of the world, I dont believe will ever happen. I want revival, trust me, theres nothing more that I would love than to finally see God getting the respect and love He deserves. I am out in the world a lot spiritually, meaning that I know and love people that will never have a place in their heart for God, it can make you a bitter person and its cold hard truth and sometimes that hurts.

Sometimes I dont word everything exactly the way I should, especially right now dealing with a sinus infection, but believe me when I tell you this, if its Gods way, then its my way. If I am wrong, then I will admit it and do a complete turn around in favor of what God wants.

Once again, for my part of the discouraging, Im sorry. :shug

No discouragement here! Just some good insight and honest thought on revival.

I'm not exactly sure what you are all talking about when you say revival. (please remember that I am very new to all this) I'm assuming you want to revive belief in Jesus, spread the Word, get people to read the bible....

....but where have you been? The way I see it, there is a revival going on. God is touching the hearts of many every day. He has made many thirsty for more of the Good News. I'm one of them. We have choices on where to look. Some look to people like Todd Bently. And people like Todd Bently exist because there is such a huge hunger. People are looking for something, most just don't know what it is. Bible sales are at an all time high. From Annals of Publishing "The familiar observation that the Bible is the best-selling book of all time obscures a more startling fact: the Bible is the best-selling book of the year, every year."

If you are looking for each and every person in this country to get saved, reality says it ain't gonna happen. What I see is people starting to choose sides.

I wrote something in a post the other day, about not looking for Jesus but being glad he found me. I'm going to go look it up and use it for my signature from now on...because I'm part of the reivival!

Jan, Revival is not where people are gettinig saved so much as it is those who are saved will be revived to awarness of God in their life again!

David, The psalmist said restore unto me the Joy of my salvation and renew a right spirit in me.Psalm 51:10 One can not be revived until on has already known the Lord!

One of my favorite praise and worship songs is Create in me a clean heart.

Create In Me A Clean Heart
(From the compilation album Your Love Broke Through)

Create in me a clean heart oh God,
And renew a right spirit within me.
Create in me a clean heart oh God,
And renew a right spirit within me.

And cast me not away from Thy presence oh Lord,
And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation,
And renew a right spirit within me.

Jan, not to worry about that going over your head. It happens to all of us on a daily basis. Especially in things Biblical.

There are several of us here who have been at learing God's truth for many years, and we are still searching and learning. We can read the same passage over and over, then one day, when we have grown enough, God will enlighten us to the meaning of that very verse, and it seems to 'revive' us, because we have another glimpse of God through that revelation.

I am encouraged by what you had to say about people searching and it is true, of course. We need to pray that what they are finding through the Todd Bentley's does not satisfy them, and that they discover God and the best seller, the Bible!

Thanks for your post.

Being we live in the Church age, the greatest revival for me will be the 'Rapture.

This reminds me of one of the letters I submited to th e local News Paper here prior to NDP ..trying to make it clear to the citizens here, there will not be a change in America, untill there is a change in the hearts and minds of Gods own children, to long we have went along with the flow, lacking the boldness and courage it takes to be different, because Christian are to be different, but with today, one can't often tell the saints from the sinners, because we went along for such a long time, we didn't notice the change in us, we are no longer causing changes in the lost, they are making changes in us

So America will not change, untill there is real repentence in the people of God, when there is a change in the hearts and minds of God childen, then there will be change in America..

And yes there can be revival, nation wide REVIVAL , but it will need to start with us first .. and no not everyone will be saved by it when there is, but nevertheless many will be saved , when they see our light , not ours really, but He who lives within , it can be not only Nation wide, but world wide, and by the way, there is an increase in believers, just not here in America.. many there are that die for their faith, I wonder if we do not get out of the comfort zone, just how firm will we stand when our faith is threaten...
I get magazine " VOICES OF MARTYRS" you can find what is going in these places by going here
www.persecution.com/
I also get email's from VOM .....
Yes Revival is possible.. but it takes a spark, to get a fire going ;)
I also believe durning the greatest falling away, will also be the greatest Revival
LORD JESUS, SEND A GREAT REVIVAL IN MY SOUL...
He who compromises the sovereign Word of God, compromises the sovereign foundation, of a Christian nation
