The human and financial cost of the tsunami continues to rise, after police estimates showed more than 18,000 people have died in the disaster and the World Bank said it may cost Japan as much as £145bn to repair the damage.
The figures came as emergency workers were evacuated from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant after smoke or steam was seen rising from one of its reactor units.

Now the water is being said to be radioactive and the people are being told to not feed babies to the water. It is safe for adults. I wouldnt buy that theroy. If not safe for the little ones it cannot be safe for the adults. I think the numbers that they are useing is just to low as far as the ones who are missing. They cannot ever really know how many are gone. I still pray for these poor people. Notice how they are handling this like real human beings. They are not fight each other and having riots and stuff like that. We get a major hurricanne and the people turn into savages. I can speak on that because of what I saw during Katrina. The very ones who went out to help those people who stuck on their roofs were shot at. We can learn so much by the people of Japan if we would watch how they have reacted to this terrible thing.
