My son, Tony

Postby Carmela » 08 Jul 2008, 11:14

Please pray for my son, Tony. He is 42 and has a wife and 4 year old daughter. He has a drug use history but has been clean for years. He has recently started up again and it just breaks my heart. He and his wife are saved, just not walking with the Lord. :cryeo

Father, I come to you asking that you convict Tony of this and draw him to you. I also ask that you stop him right as I speak and not let him pick this back up ever again. Be with his wife and child and give her the grace and love to humble her husband. I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen!

Lord, I pray for Carmela's son, Tony.

I lift him up to prayer today because, Lord Satan has deceived him into taking drugs.

Lord, we're told Satan is under Your authority, and I pray You would remove the power of Satan from Tony.

Help him to see that 'drugs' will not bring true happiness, but only 'You' will bring any enjoyment into our lives.

Now Lord I pray for Carmela, her daughter-in-law, and grandchild.

Lord, give them 'comfort' that You are hearing our prayers.

Give them 'wisdom,' on how to reach Tony.

Give them the 'words', to share with him.

Give them the 'boldness' to reach out to him.

Lord, drugs are soooo evil, and Satan is having a 'field day' destroying whom ever he can get his hands on.

Lord, you know my heart, and I hate drugs.

Please deliver this young guy.

Not because we deserve it, but by Your love kindness, and grace.

Forgive me, Lord, in everything I do or touch.

Keep my heart clean.

In Jesus' name,
Amen

Father I pray for Tony and this habit that so haunts him. I ask that you take away that desire for the drugs and clean his system so that he no longer desires it.
Bless his wife and Mom as they deal with this debilitating habit and give them grace to trust you for every need, for Christ's sake.

I pray for Tony and his family. Father, please help him see the evil of this thing he is caught up in. Touch his heart with the tug only you can tug,
This is a life long fight as are most sins we have and I know he can overcome. I pray in Jesus name.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.

Just an update: Tony is devastated that he fell back into the drug scene. His wife is having a hard time but she is being very supportive. Tony has seen a Christian councelor and truly wants to be free from this pull. Thank you all for your prayers. . . I love you all very much!!

Carmela, If their is anything other than prayer that I can do, Please let me know. One of the ministry's that God put me in for almost 20 years was to the drug addict and alcholic. I understand more than you know!

Carmela,

We just 'all' have to 'keep' praying for Tony.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 1 Peter 5

We have to pray for each other everyday.

God Bless!

Amen Jeani!

Father, I pray that you challenge Tony as only You can, to bring him back to you, and deliver him from the grip that drugs have one him.
I also pray for my fellow posters on this forum, and ask that you help us to be a light for you in contrast to today's prevailing darkness.

Once again, bless you all for your prayers. Only prayer is going to free Tony from this bondage. The enemy is lying to him about the danger of using coke. My stomach has been in a knot all day because Tony would call me and then his wife would call me and it all sounds so hopeless. Tony's councilor is telling him to do certain things and Tony feels it's not necessary because he can handle it. . . . . I know that the Lord is in control but it's sooo hard. . .

Carmela, I pray that God will help you let Tony go into His care, and give you peace of mind.

I well remember when my son was young and I worried about him. Many nights he would come home late, and I was awake until he got home. When he would go to sleep, I would kneel at the foot of his bed, touch his toe and pray for him.

God, in His grace enlightened me to the fact that once my son began making his own decisions, he had usurped my authority which in effect took away my responsibility for him, spiritually speaking. I was still responsible for him in the local law, however.

It was odd the effect that had on me. It took a while but slowly I began to pray differently for my son. I began telling God that he was making his own decisions and there was nothing I could do about it, and God heard me, and gave me a great deal of relief.

I began sleeping while he was out, though I would hear him when he came home. The scarey thing was that God would hold son responsible if he got into trouble, and that concerned me. Then God taught me another lesson. Son got a speeding ticket & his dad refused to pay the fine. I got indignant about it, and paid the fine, though I could ill afford to do so. God used that as a lesson for me. He allowed me to see that as long as it cost son nothing, he would do the same thing again, or something similar Once it began costing him, he quit that sort of thing.

I said all that to say this, let God have Tony, and He will work things out. It will probably be a process, and take some time. In the mean time we will be praying for Tony, his wife and you.
