Who are the gatekeepers in the home?

After Nehemiah appointed gatekeepers, he then appointed a gatekeeper for each house. Who are the gatekeepers in the home?

I am not sure what you mean? Do you mean who should be the spiritual leaders or head of the home?

The way I see this is that Nehemiah was setting up guards for security at the gates of the newly reconstructed wall around Jerusalem. Some would serve at sentry posts and some in front of their own homes. This wasn't a spiritual leader but a security guard. The gatekeepers or security guards would be the residents of Jerusalem "everyone on a regular watch".

I agree. But if the husband is not saved or is not a christian or say the husband is away or deceased, then is it the wife or widow?

Unfortunately Joye, That is the dilemma a lot of families are in. 1 Corinthians 7:13-15
And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.
