Becoming a child of God

Becoming a child of God

There is a great confusion in this world and among professing Christians that says all people of this earth are children of God. This confusion comes from a lack of understanding of there relationship to God.

To be a child of God and part of His family, we must be born into His family. Our Lord said in John 3:3, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven."

The Bible is clear that all people are God’s creation (Colossians 1:16), and that God loves the entire world (John 3:16), but only those who are born again are children of God John 1:12; 11:52; Romans 8:16;

1 John 3:1-2 1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is..

In Scripture, the lost are never referred to as children of God. Ephesians 2:3 tells us that before we were saved we were “by nature objects of wrath.” Romans 9:8 says that “it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring.” Instead of being born as God’s children, we are born in sin, which separates us from God and aligns us with Satan as God’s enemy (James 4:4; 1 John 3:8).

Jesus said, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me” (John 8:42). Then a few verses later in John 8:44, Jesus told the Pharisees that they “belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire.”

We become children of God when we are saved because we are adopted into God’s family through our relationship with Jesus Christ (Galatians 4:5-6; 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Ephesians 1:5 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

This can be clearly seen in verses like Romans 8:14-17: “…because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

AMEN AND AMEN....

Allot of people don't understand that the Lord will not hear any prayers from an unbeliever unless it's for salvation.

Scripture even says:

Husbands, likewise, dwell with themwith understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel as as being heirs together of grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Peter exhorted Christian husbands to give their wives two gifts of love; understanding and respect.

Also husbands are to treat their wives with respect as te weaker partner.

Weaker refers to physical or emotional weakness, not intellectual inferiority, for wives are their husbands' fellow heirs of God's gift of life.

Peter added that husbands who do not treat their wives with consideration and respect, cannot expect to have their prayers answered.

As Chrisitans, I think we have forgotten these scriptures...
