Purpose-Driven Connection Promotes Heretical Shack
Jun 24 by Ingrid Schlueter

Rick Warren’s new online magazine, Purpose-Driven Connection,

http://www.purposedriven.com/article...ntId=600001149

is also promoting the heretical book, The Shack.

It would not bother Rick that author William Paul Young denies the penal substitutionary atonement.

Doctrine does not matter.

What matters is if you feel “moved”, if you laugh, if you cry,

if you feel “transformed” by whatever popular book is on the best seller list.

Who cares that the substitutionary atonement is at the heart of the true Gospel?

Who cares if William Paul Young is denying this basic biblical doctrine?

He wrote a book that emotionally moves us, and that, today, is all that matters.

Oh no! I bought The Shack quite some time ago and only just now am starting to read it. So now what do I do? I'm usually on top of this stuff so I must be getting old or something! I'm thinking that I'll continue to read it cause it's a short book and I'll give a report.

Carmela, I was loaned the Shack last year. I didn't know anything about it either. I read a couple chapters into it, waiting for it to "get somewhere". Finally, I got to a certain chapter and said, "What the heck???" I started skimming pages and felt like I was reading Alice in Wonderland. I stopped skimming and went to the back page and then to the front again, thinking I had surely missed something. I think you will find it offensive. I just remember thinking, "Whoa. This is breaking all the rules". Stephen King did a better job writing The Stand than Wm Young did writing The Shack. Neither are Biblical but at least The Stand defines good and evil. The Shack is Poppycock.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,… (Ephesians 3:20)

I never read the 'Purpose Driven Life' materials or 'the Shack.'

I'm very, very picky on what I read outside of the Bible.

I'm more on 'prophecy',and I know my good teachers.

'Experiencing God' is wonderful if any of you would like to be involve in good materials as a small group.

I lead the 'women's group' about three times, and the last time my husband and I went through the study, our Associate pastor and his wife was lead to Bolivia to start Baptist churches.

At the time, I was a little worried as to where God was going to lead me.

I was a little 'green' at the time, and now I can laugh at it.

:hehehe
