Peter and Paul on PBS

Postby Carmela » 15 Dec 2009, 11:58

I was surfing through the TV guide the other night and I got to the area where all the "Christian" programming is. I saw a program called Peter and Paul and it looked very good so I put it on. As I watched it, little things were getting to me. They seemed to trivialize Christ's reserrection and said a couple of things that made me wonder about, but I let it go and kept watching. Then when they talked about Pentacost they said that the people came streaming out from the upper room babbling. Then they said it was called "speaking in tounges" and said that it's the same thing that pentacostal churches do. That's when I'd had enough! Scripture makes it perfectly clear in Acts 2, that the apostles were speaking in KNOWN languages. . .not known to them, but known to the many foreigners who were there at the time. It was then that I noticed that the channel was Public Broadcasting which, of course, is very liberal. Anyway, this is the kind of programming that the unsaved watch (and some saved) and get a totally false teaching of Scripture. If you see this on your TV guide. . beware!!

I am not surprised! PBS is a humanistic, agnostic bunch that supports all ungodly behavior. They are evolutionist and Supporters of the Gays and Lesbian Front.

They are famous for slanting and twisting the word of God!

I watched a program tonite on the History Channel about the Rapture - they barely touched on the various timings, had different people saying this & that. Joel rosenberg was right on about the pre-trib, but I hate those kind of shows. They aren't definitive in any way, and anyone watching them who doesn't know anything is left with "well, if they don't know, I surely dont". Sad, really sad, that so many won't open the Word and read it.

It is the same way with the History Channel and the National geograpic channel. I don't even tune those in. The Bible is the best source and has always been and we need to be careful about whom we take our information from without testing the spirits and using scripture for reproof and correction.
