Pastors Should Tremble

Don,

I agree with you, but I still hope and pray God leads you to a true Biblical church.

As I mention, I am in a Laodiecea Church myself, but I still believe the Lord can use me.

At least that's my prayer for myself

I must confess, sometimes my husband and me will skip out of Sunday nights, so we don't have to hear our preacher.

The HS convicts me, but I am bless having a grounded Bible teacher.

I never miss Sunday mornings to study the Word with her, and when we're on vacations, we will try to attend church that morning.

Soooo glad the Lord led you to 'Christ First Forum', and hope we can be the sisters and brothers we should be.

Hope you see 'Christ' in us even though it's cyberspace.

This past Sunday I just did not want to go to church. It's so dead and dying. I get more from my morning TV (David Jeremiah, Day of Discovery, and Charles Stanley) than from church. I finally asked the Lord to show me if He wanted me to continue going to this church. I asked Him to have something happen that morning so that I would know. I don't normally do a "fleece" type of thing but I was not hearing His answer to my prayer regarding the church. Well, no sooner had I sad down than a woman who I have been praying for (cancer) came up to me and was soooooooo happy to see me. She sees me every Sunday but doesn't greet me this way! I instantly knew that this was my answer and that the Lord wants me to continue on at this church. So, of course, I will.

Praise God! I know that God has a purpose for you there and sometimes we can't see why, but God will reveal it to you sooner or later.

first love wrote:It is so. Pastors first and foremost. But then the deacons, Sunday School teachers, and church members.

We can't find a Church that teaches the word of God. It is mostly about how to be a friend, or money or something.

I am thankful for you Remnant. God Bless You.

I'm not sure where you live, but have you looked to see if there is a Calvary Chapel there?
I go to North Country Chapel here in Post Falls Id. and we are taught line upon line through the Bible.
This is an affiliate of Chuck Smith?

God brought us here 12 years ago, for the very reason you mentioned......we were sitting under topical teaching
and I was starving for the word.
We have been blessed ever since.

I hear your cry, and seems there are many feeling the same way, but we have been taught in a wonderful way from an anointed Pastor.

I can ,and would give the URL for our Church if I have permission?
There are two services on Sunday, also one on Monday evening, and Friday night.
You can watch live, on the net.
Let me know, will check in later, we are heading out soon for this evenings service. :thaap

Let's just say this is a subject "very close to me". We should ALL tremble!!! I want to quote from an article I have "Will You Not Tremble" - I'll leave out the author and publication in hopes of sparing criticism. "Our hearts have turned away from Him, and we've lost the fear of Him and His judgment. As we turn from God, we choose to disobey God and we replace Him, His purposes and His ways with something of the world. We substitute work, recreation, relationships and a love of worldly things for our love relationship with God". "While the history of God's judgment should cause any of us to tremble, it is the loss of the fear of God that characterizes the people of God . We no longer believe that God disciplines and judges His people. We have become complacent and we feel that we have no need to tremble. It sounds strange to this generation of believers because we only see God as our friend." "Thus, out of an encounter with the holy God, Isaiah entered into the fullness of life that God had prepared for him". "Many others in the Bible experienced the holiness of God which ushered in a fear of God. You can read of Peter's experience in Luke 5, Paul's encounter on the Damascus road in Acts 9 and John's encounter in the Book of revelation. In each instance they found themselves trembling before the Lord. So, we really do not know God if we have never trembled in His presence or trembled at His Word. "God's presence and Word today ought to, and must, bring a trembling fear of God among His people. His holy presence should expose our sin, causing us to tremble and cry out in repentance that brings holiness into our lives. Only then will we be ready to experience the fullness of God." those are excerpts from the article - and I hold it very close to my heart.

Good notes, Open Door.

My SS teacher (with the HS working through her) brings the 'Word' to life, for me...

Through the HS, you do have reverence for Christ and God....

I can even feel the presence of 'love' among our SS class' members...

However, my church is sooo lacking...

Right now I'm not there for 'what I can receive',but 'what I can give..'

God always lets us know when it's time to 'move....'
