Our Thoughts and The Bible

Postby Rainbow » 24 Feb 2010, 21:04

Well yet again I had nothing better to do then think.
I was thinking about this category (Spiritual Warfare) and wondering what else would drive Satan up the wall. (not that I want it to be mine he is driving up) :rifl

But the best answer I came up with is our own thoughts.
If we keep our thoughts on God and his written word (the Bible) what else
can be a better warfare then that.

Now I'm not saying that you will succeed. I'm sure some kind of thought about Satan will pass through your mind at some points in your life.
That's because when he knows you are focused on God he sees it as a chance to get his turn at bat so to say.

But you can always strike him out when you get focused on God and the Bible.

Yes, we should stay focused on God all the time. In fact, it's when we don't that we give satan an opportunity. God's Word is everything, it's all encompassing, and it coves all areas of our lives. If only, we would obey. Praise Him, Thank Him, for His Word, sing it, preach it, and live by it!!!

[i]I always pray for the 'whole armor of God' upon my family and me....

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.

stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace,

above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD.[/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The key of 'staying in the fellowship with the Lord' to keep those fiery darts from the wicked one from penetrating is 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness....
What I think is sooo sad is watching someone with mental illness or doing drugs or alcohol is when I think Satan really takes the opportunity to fire fiery darts from the wicked one....
When one's mind is 'open' to those darts...
Doesn't mean Satan 'possesses' this person when he's a Christian,but can temporary control him or her...
That you tell me about this reminds me of Robert Schuller on his emphasis on positive thinking. Schuller has more of a philosophy view than a Biblical view. This thinking is also what I would call a war fare. For this is some kind of knowledge. But as the Bible tells us they will be always learning but never coming to The Truth.
Indeed Schuller can educate you in lots of areas of life. He has met and talked to a lot of people. Even being just a really nice guy himself.
His intentions are meant well but my friend Janet has a Daughter in law who is a professional violinist player whom has done parts in movies playing, , teaches and also once played at this Crystal Cathedral of Garden Grove Calif close to where I used to Live. Janet A ministers’ wife back then told me that Pammy left that Church because Schuller and his sermons lacked too much substance.
This guy brings on celebrities, politicians and so and gives you all the sugar coating candy of stuff that sounds good in all.
I myself do not approve of this teacher. But yet I am not the Judge of this man. If The Lord says Schuler enter the Kingdom of Heaven I have nothing to say. It is God's true Judgment call and I can not argue one word. The Lord knows his Heart better than anyone. What The Lord decides goes. We just are witnesses for Jesus.
I seen plenty of sermons and read part of his book. Enough was enough. This was too far fetched to what The Church has been teaching me. I will find another pastor to follow who teaches more sound doctrine. Remember the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the midst of the Garden of Eden which there was also the Tree of Life.
Knowledge can destroy someone just like the tree of knowledge did to Adam. With Knowledge you can choose to be good or evil with The Tree of Life you choose God to take The wisdom and do what is Right in His Eyes.
