One day at a time.

Postby Remnant » 11 Sep 2011, 06:34

One day at a time. Matt 5:34

The presence of Jesus Christ in the person of the Holy Spirit is my strength and power to live the Christian life. W/Christ I can do all things, w/o Christ I can do nothing.

Do not worry. Key is live one day at a time. God will take care of tomorrow.

I do not live in the past, I live in the present. I do not live in the future, I live the present. Ps42:8 Day by day...Luke's version Lord's prayer 2Cor 4:16

How do you live one day at a time?

1. Rejoice in the day God gives you. Ps 118:24 It's silly not to believe God. Praise God and thank Him. Gal 2:20 Heb 13:4 Don't be covetous, be content w/what you have. The Lord will never leave me or forsake me. Jesus is same every day, His presence always there.

2. Surrender your life to God one day at a time. This is a new day. Seek God early. This is the only day you are promised.
Offer yourself as a living sacrifice.

3. Choose God's will in every area of your life. Choose God's will. Col 3:23,27 Thank God for your blessings. Do everything for God. Ask God for His clear leadership. Ps 32:8

4. You must refuse to live in the past. There has to be closure on your past life. Are your hurts self inflicted or by others? Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. Let it go! Everyone of us have been there. The forgiveness and mercy of God is enough, if God isn't remembering, why should you? Move on! God will give you another opportunity. God wants to heal you. Forgive anyone who hurts you. Unforgiveness hurts you, you have rope around their neck and yours and they are always with you.

5. Do not live in future, live in the present. Your worry about future will ruin your present. You can concentrate on following Jesus because you are consumed about tomorrow. What keeps you from living one day at a time? Is God not big enough to take care of it? Live and obey God today and you'll be ready for tomorrow. There may be trials and tests but trust God today, follow Jesus. There is a difference between worry and concern. Concern leads you to pray but worry causes you not to pray, just worry. Be a person of faith if you are a child of God. Ask God to take care of tomorrow.

While I was driving in my car this morning, I was listening to a preacher on my radio...

His topic was: 'being in God's will for our lives.'

He sounded good at first then he said 'Solomon asked for wisdom.' True...

He was given many women...Ugh?

God didn't 'give' him those women...Solomon was 'out of the Lord's will' to be involve with so many women...

In fact, God repeatly told Israel NOT to marry foreigners because they brought in their 'false gods'.

That's what happen to Solomon with his many wives...he did the opposite...felled out of the 'will of the Lord.'

Perfect example, Jeani, of discernment kicking in because you know Scripture :) So important today.
