NYC Orders Mandatory Condom Class
Fire it up19

Students in New York City will be required to take sex education classes that include lessons on how to use a condom – a curriculum that the head of the school system said is long overdue.

The New York Times reported that it’s the first time in nearly two decades that middle and high school students will be forced to take the mandatory classes. One of the lessons includes instruction on how to properly use a condom.

“We must be committed to ensuring that both middle school and high school students are exposed to this valuable information so they can learn to keep themselves safe before, and when, they decide to have sex,” NYC School Chancellor Dennis Walcott wrote in a letter to principals and obtained by Fox News Radio.

Children as young as 11-years-old will take part in discussions on a variety of topics ranging from the risks of unprotected sex to the appropriate age for sexual activity, the newspaper reported.

The "appropriate age" for first-time sex is on your wedding night. I was 22 when I got married and engaged in sex for the first time. Are 11-year-olds really getting involved in sex? That never entered my mind at that age (other than watching my brother with a girl at that age--that was fascinating), but then I wasn't surrounded with so much sex on TV as they are today.

When I was going to school in the 80’s it was common for teenagers to start engaging in sex. Would usually say some started about age13 or so. I know at the skating rink some of the kids went to the party room to do this. However lots of kids still did not get into these things as of yet many yet did not feel they had to. But when you got to high school kids seemed to have expected you should have by now at least by age 15. I had a class in 10th grade that dealt with Health issues and sex ed. But at that time a student needed a note from their mom saying she gives the school permission for their Child to participate. The emphasis was mostly sexually transmitted disease such as Herpes gonorrhea and syphilis. They did not make Sex look very appealing. They did not talk about condoms or they also did not talk about abstinence mostly the dangers of sexual intercourse.

Aids were also a big issue in the 1980s. There have been music concerts solely to put charity to help find a cure for aids. Once in the late Nineties I met a friend on line who was dying from aids.

Please let me tell you the reality. Things have got worse then it has been before. Many kids are trying to start things younger. What they see all around them thinks they have to fit in already. At that age I watched The Muppet show tonight, super friends cartoons. Lots of different cartoons I appreciate to have these times.

I admit however in my teens I started looking in Girlie magazines at home. My first Girlfriend Rene at age 14 nothing serious happened. But it could have. I did not make the moves back then. I thought about it as a teen but I did not do much as going to school.

When I was 19 that all changed. I really got involved with women after that.

As the way I think today. I don’t think any kid is ready for sex. That Kids ought to try to be kids while they have the chance. The best memories are thinks like going to picnics or amusement parks going on fun trips with family and friends just having a good time. That is the best part of being a kid. I agree with Jon Marc. But that does not usually happen I don’t think I have ever met anyone off hand that waited till marriage. For those who have gotten married usually started much before getting married. I have been engaged but never married.

I had high moral standards as a teen even before I was saved, but being saved at age 17 definitely gave me a strong standard of what was right and wrong when it came to sex. I guess I was just the exception, for I never had any desire whatsoever to engage in sex before marriage. I played show-me-yours-and-I'll show-you-mine as a kid with a girl, but that's as far as it went--no touching and no sex play. Even watching my brother when I was 10 or 11 didn't cause me to want to try what I saw.

The UN is wrong. All a child needs to know is that he or she is loved, how to be happy, and how to enjoy being a child. Sexual desires do NOT need to be awakened in children by teaching them about sex. Even if I had been taught how to properly use a condom at age 11, that knowledge wouldn't have done me any good for another two years when I reached puberty--assuming that I would have engaged in sex at that age.

Teens definitely need to be taught that abstinence is best and that God demands it. They do not need to be taught how to use a condom, how to have "safe sex", or how to please your sex partner. They need to be taught that sex should wait until their wedding night and should ONLY be with one's spouse.

It's good to have someone actually agree with me occasionally; I'm used to being told how wrong I am. When I was 17, an adult said, "You prize integrity highly, don't you?" I have been far from perfect all my life, but integrity and high moral standards are very important to me.
