NC pastor who doesn't believe in hell is fired
Who's in Hell? Michigan Pastor's Book Sparks Debate About Eternal TormentPublished March 24, 2011
| Associated Press
DURHAM, N.C. -- When Chad Holtz lost his old belief in hell, he also lost his job.
The pastor of a rural United Methodist church in North Carolina wrote a note on his Facebook page supporting a new book by Rob Bell, a prominent young evangelical pastor and critic of the traditional view of hell as a place of eternal torment for billions of damned souls.
Two days later, Holtz was told complaints from church members prompted his dismissal from Marrow's Chapel in Henderson.
"I think justice comes and judgment will happen, but I don't think that means an eternity of torment," Holtz said. "But I can understand why people in my church aren't ready to leave that behind. It's something I'm still grappling with myself."

There is a lot more to this story!
Holtz spent years trying to reconcile his belief that Jesus Christ's death on the cross redeemed the entire world with the idea that millions of people — including millions who had never even heard of Jesus — were suffering forever in hell.

The funny thing is that more people belive in angels but not in demons. No good without bad. They are simply blinded by the world. No fear of punishment for sins if you dont belive in hell!!

I was rereading this post and asking myself why would he belive in heaven but no hell. Our teachings in some churches are no more than feel good sermons and nothing more. It is like if you dont give that feel good sermon then you are not following the code of society. Look at the tv preachers and teachers they all do nothing more than two things. They give a feel good sermon and beg for your money. There are aceptions to that rule. Yet more are into the feel good movement than the ones teaching about the bible. I cant tell you the last time I heard a tv preacher talk about hell. It is almost taboo to even mention the word hell. It is real folks!! Just as heaven is real!! You have a choice as to where you want to go. You can keep following these messages of feel good about yourself and the people around you or you can follow what the bible says. I would much rather hear about hell than to hear about how I can feel better if I stop and pray for the roses to bloom.
