Plus she's a 'woman preacher'??????

Nope. .she's not a preacher and has never claimed to be. She's a Bible teacher of mostly woman. Her husband is with her all the time and it is very evident that he is the head. That link you posted didn't say who the person is who is making the statements against Joyce Meyer. I am going to look into this more and if you could tell me who the link is from, that would be great :)

This is a common teaching of word of faith teachers such as Paula White, Kenneth Kopeland and some others on TBN

I have always found Joyce Meyer to be different from the run of the mill word of faith people. I really cannot stand any of them nor can I tolerate TBN. I'm having a problem loading the link you gave me, Frank, so I'll try in the morning. I'm also going to contact the JM ministry. I have listened to her for years and I have never heard her talk about the stuff that's on that link jeani posted.

As we know from Genesis, and the story of Sodom and Gommorrah, Lot was "vexed" by the things the people were known for.
Uganda recently set up a Christian Govt. where their Charter states that their God is Jesus Christ, and that they will serve Him only...
Uganda's pre-Christian history is stunningly chilling, and would "vex" anyone. They will not allow their past to repeat itself, God willing.
Of course, they will come down hard on such wickedness. I'm wondering what laws they have there against VooDo and Witchcraft?

I believe the web site is by a Bob Hunter. They have a email address at the bottom to contact them.

Most of this is also information from other sources and authors. I would do a google on what Joyce Myers believes and teaches from both perspectives. True and False!

Under these circumstances then, yes, homosexual behavior should be addressed no matter where it happens. Unfortunately we don't have a government like that so it has to be handled differently. I didn't know that, by the way, about Uganda's government. . .thanks for posting that, Doug.

Yes, thanks Doug, about the valuable information about this country.

Unless one understands the government and the religion in these countries, it's hard to make a judgment...

I'm also wondering what laws they will have against VooDo and Witchcraft?

It's usually 'rampant' in these countries...

God has the 'over all picture' that we can't see,and He's JUST....

Nothing happens unless He Allows it...

I 'used' to watch Joyce Meyers a long time ago...

Being we're living in the 'Last Days', I stay clear of ALL CHARISMATIC TEACHERS AND PREACHERS.

Usually they are the ones where the poor widow is sending her last dollar while they have RICH LIFESTYLES...

Her beliefs are written in her books a long time ago...

I always admire Billy Graham.

No matter how much money was given to him, he set his salary at $80,000 to live on....

It never change....

Wow...didn't know all this about her.

I posted an article by her recently.

I heard her one morning and it was very inspiring.

I have heard of her and have listened to her years ago...but not a big follower...just thought she was "inspiring"

Thanks everyone for searching it out.

I don't watch tv much at all and especially preachers and teachers on tv.

Didn't even know she was charismatic....

Hosted by Back to Google NewsRitual sacrifice of children on rise in Uganda
By JASON STRAZIUSO (AP) – Apr 4, 2010

JINJA, Uganda — Caroline Aya was playing in front of her house in January when a neighbor put a cloth over her mouth and fled with her.

A couple of days later, the 8-year-old's body was found a short walk away — with her tongue cut out. Police believe she was offered up as a human sacrifice in a ritual killing, thought to bring wealth or health.

"If it is a sickness you try to treat it, and if they die that is one thing," said Caroline's father, Balluonzima Christ. "But when you slaughter a person like a goat, that is not easy."

The practice of human sacrifice is on the rise in Uganda, as measured by ritual killings where body parts, often facial features or privates, are cut off for use in ceremonies. The number of people killed in ritual murders last year rose to a new high of at least 15 children and 14 adults, up from just three cases in 2007, according to police. The informal count is much higher — 154 suspects were arrested last year and 50 taken to court over ritual killings.

Children in particular are common victims, according to a U.S. State Department report released this month. The U.S. spent $500,000 to train 2,000 Ugandan police last year to investigate offences related to human trafficking, including ritual killings.

The problem is bad enough that last year the police established an Anti-Human Sacrifice Taskforce. Posters on police station walls show a sinister stranger luring two young girls into a car below bold letters that call on parents to "Prevent Child Sacrifice."

Human sacrifices have been recorded throughout history and occur still in many countries, including India, Indonesia, South Africa, Gabon and Tanzania. One traditional healer in Uganda, when asked about the phenomenon, pointed to the story told in the Bible's book of Genesis, when God asked Abraham to sacrifice a son.

However, the rise in human sacrifices in Uganda appears to come from a desire for wealth and a belief that drugs made from human organs can bring riches, according to task force head Moses Binoga. They may be fueled by a spate of violent Nigerian films that are growing in popularity, and showcase a common story line: A family reaping riches after sacrificing a human.

"I call it a problem of psychological disorientation," said Binoga. "People get disoriented. People stop having respect in humanity and believe more in the worth of money and so-called good fortune, and they lose that natural social respect for people."

The sacrifices are also linked to a deep belief in traditional healers, or witch doctors, who can be found practically every half mile in Uganda.

At the end of a winding dirt road on the edge of Kampala, Uganda's capital, barefoot children scurry past a sign advertising the abilities of Musa Nsimbe, who goes by the trade name Professor Gabogola. The sign in front of his small wood hut reads like a panacea for the world's woes.

"A traditional healer with powers over spirits. Solves all cases, demons, thieves, tooth decay, madness fevers, appelipse, genital affairs."

Sunlight streams in like tiny laser beams through holes in the metal roof of Nsimbe's shrine. Smoke fills the air. Furry hides cover the floor. Animal horns are arrayed before Nsimbe, who chants, hums, murmurs, shakes and bangs his head against the wall in a furious calling of the spirits.

The 38-year-old Nsimbe — a father of 14 children with two women — says it's possible that some witch doctors carry out ritual sacrifices, but that he does not.

Another traditional healer, 60-year-old Livingstone Kiggo, said sacrifice is part of the healer's tool kit — sacrificing a goat, sheep or chicken is considered a call to the spirits, to people's ancestors. But killing humans is not part of the practice, said Kiggo.

He blamed sacrificial deaths on people who "want to destroy the work of traditional healers."

"Those are killers. They are not healers. They are killers," said Kiggo.

In 2008, Kiggo said a man approached him offering to sell a child. He went to the police, who set up a sting operation and snared a man trying to sell his nephew for $2,000. Police and advocates point to several cases where impoverished parents or relatives have tried to sell children to witch doctors for money.

The people of Jinja have seen three suspected cases of child sacrifice in recent months, including Caroline's. When Binoga held a town-hall-style meeting in early February, some 500 people squatted under the shade of five large trees, straining to hear his words.

Many complained of police corruption, slow investigations and a lack of convictions by the country's lethargic courts, words that drew loud cheers from the emotional crowd. Of about 30 people charged with ritual killing last year, nobody has yet been convicted. The last conviction was in 2007.

"There is a lack of political will to protect the children. We have beautiful laws but a lack of political will," said Haruna Mawa, the spokesman for the child protection agency ANPPCAN. "As long as we keep our laws in limbo we are creating a fertile breeding ground for human and child sacrifice to escalate. No convictions. What message are you giving to the police?"

Mawa's agency has helped with several recent cases of child sacrifice. A 2-year-old boy had his Private cut off by a witch doctor in eastern Uganda and now urinates through a tube, Mawa said.

A 12-year-old named Shafik had a knife put to his throat when a female witch doctor realized the boy was circumcised. Witch doctors don't kill children who are circumcised or who have pierced ears because they are considered impure, Mawa said. As a result, some parents have taken their children to get piercings or circumcisions.

The Christ family is protecting their three remaining children in other ways. The siblings no longer walk to school alone and are instead accompanied by their parents. It is a security precaution that the parents can't take forever, said Fred Kyankya, the district criminal intelligence officer.

"You can't keep holding onto a child very tightly. Children move freely," Kyankya said. "So people get scared that there are such vices in the country."

How sick.....

I hope the Lord comes before America becomes like this sinful nation...

I, personally, already consider 'abortions' to be child sacrifice in America, and if the Lord doesn't return, we'll continue moreso...

This article was very informative:

GOD'S OPPINION OF YOU LASTS FOREVER

By Marsha West

NewsWithViews.com
A Christian friend of mine is reading one of Joyce Meyer’s books. If you haven’t heard of Meyer, she is a popular health and wealth author/radio & TV teacher/conference speaker who believes God is our sugar daddy. The evangelist has been criticized for her “conspicuously prosperous lifestyle.” According to my friend, Joyce’s books are “uplifting.” She didn’t like hearing that some of her favorite author’s teaching is theological heresy. To my friend’s way of thinking, if a book makes you feel good, doctrine isn’t all that important.

What galls me is that Joyce Meyer’s books are carried by “Christian” book sellers. Worse, her books have sold a gazillion copies thanks largely to Christians. Joyce Meyer is both wealthy and influential. Albeit not as influential and wealthy as Oprah--but give her time.

One of Joyce Meyer's unorthodox beliefs is that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins in hell. The Christian Research Institute's statement on her teaching says this:

The following quote is from her 1991 booklet, The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make, she teaches a hallmark doctrine of Faith theology, namely, that Christ had to suffer in hell to atone for our sins and be born again:

"During that time He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin...He paid the price there.…no plan was too extreme...Jesus paid on the cross and in hell….God rose up from His throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless Son of God, “Let Him go.” Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus...He was resurrected from the dead ¾ the first born-again man."

Traditional orthodox Christianity does not teach that Christ’s work of redemption was completed by suffering in hell and being born again. What it does teach is that Jesus atoned for our sins on the cross. According to John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

Orthodox Christianity teaches that Jesus’ shed blood was sufficient for the atonement of our sins. The moment Jesus uttered the words "It is finished" our sin debt was paid in full.

What the Bible says about prosperity and success is far different from what Joyce Meyer teaches. For example, Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Does this mean Christians will be influential and financially secure? No. According to my NIV commentary: “Many people think that prosperity and success come from having power, influential personal contacts, and a relentless desire to get ahead. But the strategy for gaining prosperity that God taught Joshua goes against such criteria. He said that to succeed Joshua must (1) be strong and courageous because the task ahead would not be easy, (2) obey God’s law, and (3) constantly read and study the Book of the Law – God’s Word. To be successful, follow God’s words to Joshua. You may not succeed by the world’s standards, but you will be a success in God’s eyes – and his opinion lasts forever.”

To “meditate therein day and night” does not mean believers are to go into an altered state of consciousness to draw closer to God. Christian meditation, as opposed to Eastern meditation, entails reading Scripture and stopping to ponder the meaning of a passage. God’s people are not to adopt Medieval mysticism to “draw closer to God.” Far from it. We are told to stay away from paganism. In Deut. 18:6-13 God says to the Israelites, “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord…”

Despite God’s command to stay away from paganism a large number of believers have adopted pagan worship practices. Their inspiration comes from false teachers whose books are sold/promoted through so-called Christian publishers and book sellers. Quite frankly, a lot of books by so-called Christian authors have no business being sold in a Christian market!

Don’t get me wrong. I am not advocating book burnings. What I am advocating is the removal of out-and-out heresy. Proprietors who have a mind to do this might want to start by removing the books/CDs of the “Prosperity Gospel” Word-Faith cult. A cult? you say with steam coming out of your ears. Allow me to explain. The Word-Faith movement is viewed as a cult because it is a “false, unorthodox, extremist” sect of Christianity (dictionary.com). In other words it is counterfeit Christianity. Those who teach Word-Faith theology are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Jesus warned us about them: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Mat 7:15).

The book for the serious Christian to get into is the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers' Instructions Before Leaving Earth). God has given us His inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word so that we will learn about Him and His ways. In the beginning our Creator chose to reveal who He is, His nature, His thoughts, His character and His secret plan of salvation in the Scriptures. Knowing what God says will help believers grow strong in His mighty power.

Just be careful of 'promotion speakers',and 'test' the spirits...

Too many churches are using these 'promotion speakers'; even my own...

It's hard to 'speak out' against them...

I was SHOCKED, I MEAN TOTALLY SHOCKED, when I accidentally turned on Joel Osteen's church yesterday...

His church is sooo packed with people....

Sooo many being lead astray....

Christians in the OT were being 'fed to the lions'....and they were a 'few' compared to the Roman population.
