I pray that everyone is well. My visit with my daughter and family is going very nicely. I'm afraid that with all the sight-seeing, the time will fly by :( It's strange how the famous sites such as the Coliseum in Rome, Pompei and others aren't necessarily the best ones. Herculiem, for example, was next to Pompei and was also destroyed when Mt. Vesuvius blew it's top back in 70 AD but it's much more preserved and less crowded. We visited an amphitheater in Cuma that has a history every bit as bloody and ugly as the one in Rome and yet you didn't have to fight the crowds of tourists. Naples is dirty and lawless. The driving is horrendous and scary. Get out of Naples and it's beautiful. There is always the ever present cloud of oppression from the Roman Catholic system. It is more and more apparent in foreign countries that Americans are not liked very much. On the military cable system on TV that my daughter has in their home, tells them (military personnel) to keep a low profile when out and about. My daughter's home is next door to a huge NATO base that's being built here. It's fun to visit sights but visiting with the granddaughters is the best part :)) Their church is a room in a storefront and is a Baptist gathering. The pastor and his wife are such great people with a huge heart for the lost. Very small group but very in love with the Lord. It's difficult to keep a church going in this area. We are so blessed in the United States. As bad as it's getting, it's still the best place to live. Today we're going to visit an old castle in Caserta. I'll let you know how that is and possibly post some pics. God's blessings on all of you! :))
