One of the teachers I work with has some extended family members going through a great trial right now.
The ten-year-old daughter, Lily, was taken to the doctor about a week ago with leg pain. After conducting several tests, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer of the connective tissue. This cancer is diagnosed in only about 190 people in the U.S. every year.
Doctors say that the cancer started in a small tumor in her foot. It is believed to have begun only 2 or 3 months ago. Currently, it is now at stage 4 and has metastasized into the bones all the way up to her hip joints. (Not sure if it is only one leg or both.)
Lily is to begin chemo this coming week. This is a very aggressive cancer. Please pray for her and for her family. This is very shocking news, and they are devastated. I'm not sure if this family is Christian; many in that teacher's family and extensions are not.
Thank you for your prayers.
