Resurrection Sunday to the Christian is the greatest and most significant day in History. For it is the day that we come celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and worship and praise Him.
Matthew 28:5-7
5 But the angel answered and said to the juices, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
Then in John 11:25,26
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Finnally in Mark 1:14-15 14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
Here in Mark, Jesus made two doctrinal statements or truths concerning mankind. Not only was Jesus speaking to the disciples, but He was speaking this to every man, woman and child that has or will every be born.
The first thing He says is Repent and the Second is to believe in the Gospel. The very foundation of the Christian faith is believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Did you notice that you must believe in your heart that He was raised from the dead.
