Happy Mothers Day! May 10th

Postby Remnant » 06 May 2009, 14:37

This comming Sunday, May the 10th let us obey the 6th commandment.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is given you.

I thought maybe from now through Sunday we could post testimonies about our mothers, wives, grandmothers. etc. To honor them with our words.

First let me say of all the people I have ever met, there has never been one that fits Proverbs 31. Like my beloved wife. She is truly the virtuous woman. I could never have done what the Lord has called me to do with out Joan.

I am not just saying this because she is my wife. I don't know why the Lord gave her to me. It's for certain I did not deserve her. She has been a constant support over all these years of marriage. She has stood beside me in ministry, in poor health and sickness and in loss. She has been the best mother to my son and to my nieces and nephew.

I wrote this last year but today it hits home more then ever!
Through all that my precious wife has gone trough and she still manages to bring sunshine in every ones life with her smile and joy of the Lord in her life.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies. I found her in Mommy Joan

Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Pro 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Pro 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Pro 31:14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Pro 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Pro 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Pro 31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Pro 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Pro 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Pro 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.

Pro 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.

Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Pro 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it]; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Pro 31:25 Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Pro 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.

Pro 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Pro 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.

Pro 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Pro 31:30 Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Pro 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

I Honor you Joan with all my Love, Happy Mothers Day

What a 'sweet' testimony, Frank.

It's wonderful to hear stories where marriages are sooo good after sooo many years~

I don't have a good relationship with my mother, but I did have a good relationship with my grandmother &grandfather.

Of course, I was their 'favorite' grandchild, and I would spend most of my childlife with my grandparents.

I can remember walking home from school each day.

I would always go by my grandmother's house, and she would always have a coke float for me each afternoon.

Meant sooo much to me,and still does~

When you do 'simple' kindness in life, they can mean sooo much~

Unfortunately, I cannot relate to having a Godly mother. However, God is really awesome. When I started taking care of my parents 5 years ago I was not the person I am today. Over these years, the Lord has allowed me to lead my mother to Christ and be a positive influence in the home. The Lord has had me face childhood issues one at a time and is helping me to deal with them. I respect and honor the POSITION my parents hold and because of this the Lord works and heals. Praise God!!!

I miss my mother dearly, but I too did not have that desired relationship with her. When she died back in '75, we had just begun
making strides in making our relationship what it should be, but we did not have enough time.

For those of you who mother is still living, take the time you have to relish in your lives together. Don't put off today what has
to be done, because tomorrow may well be too late.

I can relate, I was not that close to my Mom, you would have thought I would have been, I was the only girl in the second family, she had two older daughters and a son, the son grew up in the Second family along with me and my six brothers,,
I am glad my Mom never stop praying for me..
but she had left before that time from having the relationship with Yeshua she once had as a young woman, after her divorce and it was not untill she got Cancer that she return fully , and then this was after my second divorce ,, then she rededicatedlife , and lived over five years, I took care of her her last two years and we were closer then , then the whole time I could recall, ..
I was always closer to Dad..
but after my Mom rededicated her life back to God, return to Him, she would quote Scripture to me, though she did when I was younger too, but it didn't mean much to me them except that she was putting me down, it was after her return that her quotes were of love and concern, and I know she prayed for my Savatiuon , she let me know it..
there were Christian Singers that came from Church and sang for her and at first I would go on watching TV,and they would have prayer, soon when they came I felt convicted to turn TV off , and I listened to them sing, it took me back before my run around days and drinking, though that all but came to a full stop when I got married,..
but started again after my divorce, and second one did not stop either for a while,..
but two years before my Mom passed on I had quit drinking and smoking, ..
I just would that I had excepted Yeshua before my mom passed on crying now... ..
my Mom and I could have had many talks about Yeshua,, but it was after she was gone I gave my heart to Yeshau, it was about 9 months later... :'( well, thats all.... :'(
Except to say Happy Mothers Day to every Mother, Grandmother , great G-ma in case I am not the only Great G-Ma here
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL, ..
and Frank, you have a beautifull heart for a guy, your Wife and you are bless to have each other ..
sometimes I would like to have a husband.. well lots of times cuz I need one just to hold me sometimes , it is hard to be tough, when you are hurting in your heart , and no one there to hold you.. I know God is there, but sometimes I just need to have arms holding me tight.... if that makes any sence to you all....
