Everyday Should Be Thanksgiving

Postby Remnant » 23 Nov 2009, 19:19

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Everyday, Should be Thanksgiving for we have so much to be thankful for!

D.L. Moody once said: Be carful for nothing, prayerful for everything and thankful for anything.

All of us who are in Christ Jesus have so much to be thankful for but I would like to share seven things that we as believers should give thanks each and everyday of our lives.

1. First and formost is to God the Father!

We need to get used to praise Him and thanking him for when we get to heaven we will be doing it continuously. Revelation &:11-17 It also tells us to praise and give thanks to Him in Psalm 100:1-5
1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

2. Just as important as the first, we should give thanks to His unmistakable gift. Jesus Christ our Lord. John 3:16-18 and Revelation 1:5 says: 5 And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.
Without Him there would be no salvation and hope for mankind.

3. We should be thankful for the Holy Spirit, Without Him this world would be in total Chaos. He is the restrainer and keeps evil in check. He convicts and draws the sinner to God. He seals the believer. He empowers us. He anoints us. He sanctifies us. He guides us and directs us. He is our comforter. He is God, He is Jesus, He is the Holy Spirit. He is the one who reveals all truths to us. 1 Corinthians 2:9-13

4. We should give thanks for Gods word. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
There is an old saying that says; Hold on to the Bible until it gets a hold of you!
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

5. We should give thanks everyday for our family and friends. Especially those that are saved. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

6. WE should give thanks always for our Salvation!
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
If you are saved give thanks to God because you will not have to suffer the wrath of God . Because of your salvation you have been forgiven and cleansed from all of your sins. Because of our salvation through Christ the Lord we shall have eternal life. Salvation is the greatest miracle and gift that anyone can have and if you have it you should be thankful everyday of your life for it.

7. The seventh and final thing that we should give thanks daily for is Gods grace and mercy. If we all got what we deserved it would be eternal damnation. Se many tomes we take Gods grace and mercy for granted. We take the health that He has given us, the clothes on our backs and the shelter that he provides often for granted. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Gods mercy endures forever. Even in judgment and wrath His mercy endures for ever. No matter if you are saved or lost we can all be thankful for that.

You might say; well I don't have anything to be thankful for. You might be saying my life is not very blessed. Oh! that is where you are wrong. If you are alive, then you can give thanks to God that He is still working on you and there is still hope.

Everyday we have something to be thankful for
