I had a debate a while back with a guy who says he is an Atheist. In this debate I shared some Bible verses. And He said to me that those scriptures did not have validity to back themselves up and that it did not fit the requirements to be agreeable to the Belief system called ”Geocentrism”. Frankly I had never heard of that before.

Then I had read a recent article how the Early Catholic Church argued with Galileo on what is considered the center of the Universe. Galileo an Italian Astronomer who has named 4 moons on Jupiter said that the Earth revolved around the Sun that the Sun was at the center. The Catholic Church said that they did not agree with this scientific view. That Earth was at the very center making it in line with Geocentrism. Group of Catholic conservatives are saying today that Galileo was wrong. That Geocentrism is the correct belief.
Looking in the dictionary I got the meaning that the Earth is at the center. If Earth is at the center would that mean that Geocentrism is a belief system today that much of the world is practicing this day. Here are some examples I would suppose. Evolution that we evolved and are from the Earth originally? Or what about Carl Sagan who teaches that we are one with the Universe. That there is No God No Angels of any sort?? What about the awareness of being connected to our planet. That we are of Mother Earth and should take care of it. Or that of New age religion that would connect us to the Earth as a central power such as the Chinese Religion Feng Shui or also known as Ying Yang. That by arranging objects can create either good or bad energy. Or that of Wicca today once known as Witchcraft as told in the Bible. Wicca says they get third powers from the Mother Earth.
Are all of these a practice of Geocentrisms? If not then what exactly would Geocentrism be? Let’s discuss the belief system of Geocentrism as it seems to pertain that that Earth is so much at the center even there is No God to believe in.
