Common Misconceptions About the Christian Life?

Postby JWayne » 28 Dec 2011, 09:43

New Christians often have misconceptions about God, the Christian life and other believers. Let's take a look at some of the most common misconceptions of Christianity, attempting to dispel some of the myths that typically hinder new Christians from growing and maturing in the faith.

I'll start ...

Becoming a Christian means giving up all fun and following a life of rules.

Romans 14:16-18
Then you will not be condemned for doing something you know is all right. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too.

Before I can become a Christian, I need to change myself...

What unbelievers do not understand is that God is the One who changes us for we cannot change ourselves...

When He changes us, we 'miss' nothing in life...

He creates a New Nature within us,and our previous desires change..

He creates a 'happiness' within us that the world cannot give...

He gives us security that the world cannot give...

He gives us peace that the world cannot give...
