Israel is never called the 'bride' in scriptures.
Israel is always called the 'adulterous wife' found in Hosea.
Only the church is called the 'bride'~
Hosea Ch 2 is a good reading......
Israel is described as the wife of the Lord, though now disowned because of disobedience.
Nevertheless eventually, upon repentance, Israel will be restored.
This relationship is not to be confused with that of the Church to Christ found in John 3:29.
In the mystery of the divine Trinity both are true.
The NT speaks of the Church as a virgin espoused to one husband found in 2 Cor. 11:1-2 which could never be said of an adulterous wife restored in grace.
Israel is, then, to be the restored and forgiven wife of the Lord; the Church is the virgin wife of the Lamb found in John 3:29; Rev. 19:6-8.
Israel will be the Lord's earthly wife found in Hosea 2:23; the Church, the Lamb's heavenly bride found in Rev. 19:7

Frank and Carmela,
I know both of you understand this teaching,but this is where people place the church in the Tribulation because they can't distinguish between the two opposite purposes of a bride and wife.
This is how they place the 'church' in the Tribulation,and then, pat themselves on the back as to how God will help them endure the greatest tribulation ever know.
To a believer, by the HS, this should be sooo simple to understand.
Israel never accepted Christ as God so they will endure the Tribulation to bring them to repentance; whereas, the Church has accepted the Lord so we are cleanse by Christ's blood on the cross.
Christ did it 'all' for us~

So is it true when it talks of the "elect" during the tribulation it's referring to the elect nation of Israel? I have to admit, I'm not real sure about what exactly the church will go through. I know the church is the bride...

I am not familiar with any verses that speak of the elect during the tribulation. The elect that is spoken of is usually the bride of Christ and they will not have to endure the great Tribulation or the Wrath of God.

Jannie, are you referring to the 144,000 Jews who will come forward and make their stand for Christ and help lead others to Him?
