Chuck Missler / False teacher

Postby Remnant » 14 May 2011, 07:35

I know that many of my brothers and sisters follow this man and listen to some of his teachings and I will probably get slack from this.

I have suspected and saw him as a false teacher for a long time. He has a program and has been a fundraiser and spoke person for God TV. which in my opinion us ungodly TV.

He is very popular because he teaches on the rapture and bible prophecy and aligns himself with Chuck Smith and Hal Lindsey and a few other well known prophecy teachers. . He is no expert and in fact teaches a false doctrine about angels.

Chuck Missler on UFOs and the Nephilim

Chuck Missler describes in his series "Return of the Nephilim" that the current UFO abductions are linked to the Genesis 6 Sons of God of the days of Noah. Flying disks are a common image in cultures throughout history and stories of gods coming to earth to have children with humans is also a common story. He describes that this may be another reason God flooded the earth, because human/fallen angel hybrids were a contamination of the image of God in man. Many abduction stories describe reproductive experiments.

Chuck Missler states that this hybriding is a plan of Satan that he will use in the end times to deceive the nations into worshiping the Anti-christ. Already, many new-agers are reading the channeled messages of "alien" beings (really they are trans-dimensional rather than from a distant planet). These messages state that they are here to help us evolve to our next level. They will help us all to unite and live in peace. These are deceiving spirits.

Genesis 6 (New International Version)
Genesis 6

The Flood

1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with [a] man forever, for he is mortal [b] ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them."

This is nothing but pure out sensationalist and false teachings.

This Nephilim theory has only been taught in the last 40 years in some of the modern day teachings and there is plenty on this site that explains that. I do not know much about the author but if he is teaching and propagated that the Sons of God impregnated women in Geneses six are angels then I can not give much credence to this for that is false. I do believe that his theory has been taught so that people would believe in aliens and UFO's A prime example is the movies of our day and the last Indiana Jones movie by Stephen Stillburg described these so called Giant Demons as such.

Chuck Missler is an extremely intelligent man. His teachings are deep and hard to follow. I admit to liking him and agree that his teaching on Nephillim (sp??) is interesting. BUT, like any other teaching that seems to take a piece of Scripture and gain a life of it's own, I tend to neither agree or disagree. Being that this topic has divided Christianity, I don't give it alot of thought. I try to concentrate on what Scripture DOES say and not what it dosen't say . I believe that Missler is a genuine Christian and that his intent is not to mislead the flock. I cannot lump him in with the Osteens and Hagins and Hinns of this world. His other teachings are very good, but like I say, very deep and hard to follow because he assumes that we are as smart as he is, haha!! BTW, Frank, I read your post this morning but didn't have time to answer it so when I got home this afternoon, I went into the threads and this one was not listed. I checked several times and then I had to finally click on your name and bring up all of your posts to get to this one. I thought that was rather strange but, now that I think of it, it's happened before with one of my posts.

I agree he is intelligent and His teachings are deep. I do not agree with a lot that he teaches and don't find him to be accurate in his bible knowledge. If you could ever grasp what his teachings are actually saying especially concerning the Nephilim then you might understand that he is a false teacher. It changes the complete doctrine of God.

Might I suggest that you do a search, just like you would with Todd Bentley and some other false prophets and see what you find out.

Thanks and blessings sister!

I know that this comes down to the Nephillim teaching and I'm not so sure that it didn't happen. When doing a word search, the word used for "sons of God" in Gen 6 is the same word that is used for "angels" in other passages. Like I say, I don't agree or disagree because it really doesn't effect my salvation so I just let it be. Todd Bentley was in-your-face with his false teachings. I don't have the same caution flags with Missler. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one, Frank :)) We'll find out soon enough.

I am sure that Angels could not conceive and procreate.

Sounds like you have changed your mind about the Nephilim teaching? I sure hope not! Just Being Honest!

Yes we will have to disagree on this one for sure.

Frank, I haven't changed my mind at all. I never believed it or disbelieved it. It's one of those doctrines that has the church split, so I leave it alone. If it were human men that took for themselves these women, why did they product "giants"? What do you think happened then? Or did you state that in your original post. . . hummmmm, I'll check. Anyway, at times I find this topic interesting but I don't spend any time on it nor talk about it as if it were valid.
