A conservative black activist is excited about Herman Cain -- who says he didn't want to run for president, but God wanted him to.

In a recent Zogby poll, the GOP presidential hopeful surged to an astonishing 20-point lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. It also showed that the former Godfathers Pizza CEO would narrowly edge out Barack Obama in a general election by a 46-44 percent margin.

Jesse Lee PetersonJesse Lee Peterson is founder and president of BOND Action, a California-based nonprofit that focuses on rebuilding families. He recently had lunch with Cain and believes he is the real deal.

"I think that the more the American people hear from him, the more they get to know about him, they more they learn to love him and want him to run," the family activist tells OneNewsNow. "The thing about Herman Cain is that what you see is what you get -- he is honest, he is up front, he is not afraid."

But the Obama campaign is afraid of Cain, says Peterson. "I think that when he has to debate Obama, he is going to blow that guy out of the water," he offers. "So I personally believe that Herman Cain is the last person that Barack Obama would want to run up against him."

Peterson adds it would be very difficult for liberals to use the race card against Cain.

While I don't expect Cain to win the nomination, I do think he's a breath of fresh air. I don't like the rest of the candidates. They are all very "plastic", if you know what I mean. I actually think Santorum may have some passion but I don't see that in the rest.

I expect that the current pres will win another 4 years because, God have mercy, that man is what this country deserves. I'm so sorry to say that but it doesn't mean I am without hope or that I am passing judgment on the U.S. I pray that God will continue to shed His Grace on this once, great nation, but how can He when there is no repentance? When we wantonly try to match up homosexuals in fake "marriages", and encourage mothers to kill their babies in their wombs, and when we turn our backs on Israel, and when we embrace Islam (and their special prayer times in businesses and in public schools)?

My husband and I had a 'date' night with two couples from our previous church last night,and they think our country will start IMPROVING...

Personally, I'm tired of SPEAKING OUT because I sound soooo NEGATIVE,but why can't professing Christians understand God's discipline anymore?

Why would God 'bless' the U.S.A. anymore except that He's very LONGSUFFERING...

Cain is looking better and better to me everyday...complete opposite of O....

I love his stance against the 'whinning and crying' of the black race about how they are sooo 'discrimated' against in America...

Cain WORKED his way UP to success,and that's what I truly like...

I like his 9 9 9 economy,but a little 'fearful' of the 9 sales tax given to government...

Hope we get some 'feedback' on this topic...
