You remember when you lived back home with your mom and or your dad? And do you remember going to school back then? Your parents and or teachers would tell you about what they call the Good ‘ole days. They had to interject in your life to tell you how things were when they were growing up. But like myself I probably reasoned at times like well that was back then and things are different now. It is nice to hear the memories but I am living a much different life. Because when we are kids we take for granted about the memories parents and teachers want to be able to share with kids.
My Grampa who lived with us for many years could talk about his own father. How greedy his father was. How my Grampa had a paper job handing them out on the corner and his dad taking all his money. How that if he got in trouble his dad would hit him across the face. And he had five brothers and all of them went into World War 2. My Grampa has some real life funny stories to share. He probably did this more than anyone in the family because He had a great memory back then. Sometimes my teachers would recall how life would be with them growing up.
Now back then you probably did not think you would be anything like your parents or teachers. Perhaps you have lived a different life. But don’t you find yourself as now grown up telling kids how it was when you were growing up? Just when you may have thought back then how unimportant in some ways to a kid and how much now you want the younger people to hear some of your memories and life stories.
So I would like to ask what some of the things are and memories that you like to tell kids today back when you were growing up? . When I say kids, these don’t have to be your own kids. This just meaning any children in general that you like to tell them. Even weather it is good or bad memories in life. I guess in a way some of us posters will also learn some about some of what we call now the Good Old days or as Bruce Springsteen might say this “Glory days”. Hey I can relate to this song. What memories you got to share?
