A Carnal State Prevents Spiritual Growth

Postby Jeani » 30 May 2009, 17:32

[i1 Cor. 3
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;

For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

For when one says, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, are you not carnal?

***********************************************

During this time the Corinthians way of thinking and living was only beginning to be transformed.

They were still greatly influenced by worldly thinking and behavior--they were infants in Christ.

The Corinthians had spurned solid food.

As a result they were still worldly.

The Corinthians were infantile, self-centered, and therefore divisive.

What do you believe is the fruit of Christians that are on meat for food?

Have you personally experience 'divisions' without the body of Christ?
